This program was introduced as a default running program in regular Leopard, but only in Snow Leopard does it produce this problem. It must therefore be down to the way it is configured....

Ok next question, can I do a clean install with just the 29 dollar upgrade version? I had tiger and upgraded to snow leopard that way. I have read conflicting information online. Some say you can do a clean install with just that disc. Others say that the box set is required. I am at work right now and plan on doin the clean install when I get home. Thanks for your help guys

No, AppFresh is most likely confused by 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and keeps giving you erroneous information about X11.
