Hello- I am trying to make up a program for an event and I need to scan in a drawing that was made of a persons face. It is a grayscale drawing, or possibly even charcoal. When I scan into Photoshop CS2, the image looks great (a portiion is pasted below), but then when I try to place it in Indesign CS2, alot of the detail is lost (a screen capture is also inserted below). The image ...

I have 2 major issues with Indesign CS2 Client machines are running Windows 7 64bit which may be the cause of the problems... First Problem is when placing PDF's in High Quality Display preview the PDF's never increase in quality which makes accurately aligning them almost impossible. TIFF's JPEG's and all other types place and display properly when High Quality Display is selected....

I'm running InDesign CS2 via Citrix and run into a problem. This problem only occurs on Macs and not PCs. It seems that when you close a document, InDesign automatically minimizes. It's this minimization behavior that is causing the Macs to lock up after the app is maximized again. Again, this is only an issue on Macs and not PCs. Is there a way to stop InDesign from minimizing when ...

I've received an InDesign file from a client and am trying to open it in CS2. It opens fine and other than some missing fonts which is easily fixed there are no problems. I do have problems when I try and select any of the objects - picture boxes or text - I can't seem to select anytghing. The layers are not locked and everything appears ok. Even when I "select all" nothing is selected. It's ...

Whenever I open/place/export a file the window that pops up to choose the file, all the columns are smashed together and you can only see the folder you have to manually drag the column open to see the names. Any one know how to fix this? I already trashed the preferences and restarted to no avail. Help it is driving me crazy.

Aside from there being two files (afm and pfb) for for T1 fonts, as Bob points out, you probably need to select the style from the dropdown below the font name. If the file extension is .otf, it's an OpenType font and there is only one file. It seems to be available both ways.

Effective resolution is the resolution at the scaled dimension you will be printing, and is the number that counts. If you scan at 600 ppi, for example, you can scale to to 200% on the page and still have an effective resolution of 300 ppi. Too much resolution can be as much of a problem as too little, and if nothing else wastes system resources. You can see effective resolution in boththe ...
