I have a Dresser loader that calls for 10 WGT motor oil. I can't find that in anything but quarts and I need fifteen gallons. I was just wondering if the universal hydraulic oil they sell at Tractor Supply would work as well.

I just changed my hydraulic fluid because my plow (Meyers E-47) froze up on me. Must have had some water in the system from condensation and with disconnecting and reconnecting. (and ya when I changed it, it was a bit milky from water) So changed it with the only stuff available that afternoon here in town…cuz it was frozen; had to plow next day. So now I need to know what is the best stuff ...

I just had my Hydraulic Oil Low - light come on, us this the same issue? reason I asked, I just went out and purchased Hydraulic Oil to fill the reservoir did I just make a mistake? Also, I have quite a leak going on with this reservoir I have noticed there was smoke coming out from under the ...

I have a 1999 E320 Wagon with 175,000 miles, it is a great ride but age is catching up to it, I have recently noticed a few leaks, a hydraulic and oil...the one concerning me is the hydraulic leak - first is there a suggested oil? and a line on replacement parts (need a new hose)...

So with all the things that needed doing, I never got around to changing the hydraulic oil in my backhoe before winter set in. Now the water in it is freezing and plugging the filter. Since I don't much feel like trying to drain 21 gallons of oil in the field, is there any additive that I can pour in that will either suspend the water in oil or at least keep it from freezing ? For now I'm ...

Does anyone have information or experience about the use of tractor transmission/hydraulic oil in our transmissions. I found very little in searching the subject. What I have heard is that the use of this fluid works well and helps keep transmission fluid temps down. Also, that it is designed to work well in hard high temperature situations that it gets exposed to in agriculture. Any useful ...

I have an old tractor, I know, an old tractor for an old farmer, ha ha. I'm wondering what the best choice is for the trans/hydro sytem. It's a 1962 MF 35. Very much like the old Ford Ns. I changed it a few years ago because it was milky from water, and installed universal oil, called TDH oil, (trans/hydraulic/differential. It was really thin and worked great in winter for moving snow. The hydro ...

We asked our hydraulic guy the same question when we bought our first Komatsu almost 10 years ago. He told us AW32 is a 10W oil and that's what we should use in them. We now have 2 Komatsu and 2 Dresser loaders all running AW 32 with no problems

Another thing: Daimler makes cars, not oils, so someone else makes it and private labels for them. Check the stickys here and if there is an MB-approved alternative to what you buy at the dealer, you should see it listed. Good luck with your leak and welcome to the forum.

all of my research has shown hygard sets the standard for the rest of the industry. i have several different hydraulic systems, all running hygard/hygard low vis. i recently purchased a used forklift with no owners manual, contacted the manufacturer on fluid specs and they told me to use their hydraulic fluid, or use jd, thats the fluid spec almost everyone uses, j20c, j20d

On the strength of what JoeG had to say about this I went with JD HiGard about 50K miles ago. The shifts are consistently good. The coldest weather I have had is around 15F. Shifts were fine still. Sometimes with the Tran fluid I would occasionally wonder, "did that shift go right" Decided to change the HyGard fluid at about 20K miles since most was towing a travel trailer. The pan was clean, ...

I would go with the Meyer plow fluid. But first I would find out for sure how the water got in there in first place. I had the same problem and one of my angle cylinders was pitted and I had a very slight leak at one of the connections. It just let out a little bubble once in a while. If the fluid can get out, the water can get in. Now all that being considered, I live in Michigan and not Ottawa ...
