how to vag com - forum talks

hi guys, My tt was involved in a bump recently and im just getting it back on the road. im just replacing bits on my tt, and im still getting errors on vagcom. So my question is how do i reset the crash data with vag-com? for example, my airbag light is on, even though the airbags didnt go off? but vagcom says airbag ecu error? any help/advice much appriciated. thanks

The FAQs IIRC stated that the USB to serial converters are trouble. Is there one known to work? I'm still trying to figure all this out. The VW and these cables. Roommate has the Jetta and I'm the mechanic. I thought I read the serial version didn't work as well? In CT, shops are charging $100 to scan. They throw in a stab at fixing it for that price, and then they will have the right info when you come back for repairs when it comes on again. One shop throws in 1 hour labor with the $100. Autozone did it for free for me in June but i had to ask them nicely to reset the CEL. Code was for O2 sensor and in about 2 weeks the exhaust leak became noticeable....
