> Has anyone used high seat roller lifters in a street/strip engine? I'm considering using them in my current engine build, it will see some serious street time. I have read so much about using rev-kits on street roller setups providing some more life the roller axle. In my application I need to use a off-set lifter, SBF/Victor heads, 9.2 deck. > >...

True, the big issue with the zinc is with older engines that use flat tappet camshafts, and the hemi uses roller lifters. But better wear protection is still a good thing, right? The high zinc content will only damage your catalytic converter over a LONG period of time (so long the exhaust system will be shot anyway) and only if there's excessive engine wear (blowby). It's ...

Are the rocker arms and pushrods new? Usually it's high mileage rockers and the wear on the pushrods that cause the various engine ticks. Bad lifters aren't unheard of, so if you replaced everything else when you pulled the heads, yeah, it's likely the lifter. You'll have to decide if it's worth it to pull the head to replace just one, or if you feel like getting a set and doing the whole ...

Ditto: I agree, high pressure fuel pump. Welcome to the world of DI. You would have really hated the sound of my big block Buick with hydraulic lifters. It sounded like a giant sewing machine on steroids, at idle. What you are experiencing is just the inherent noises of the design. You can buy the little sound dampener for the fuel pump, it would probably help at least a somewhat. ...

Sled pulling, prowler pushing, HIIT on a stairmaster or elliptical. Here are my requirements for conditioning work. Has to be LOW impact. High impact (running) impacts strength and mass gains for all but the most gifted lifters Can't produce DOMS. If it does protein requirements go up and it is just another workout to recover from. Has to be able to get you breathing hard without lactic ...
