I came home last night, from having surgery last friday. Friday really sucked, as far as pain control. don't get me wrong, they did there best, to get my pain under control, it was just very very diffictult. My surgeon, and the nurses worked together to get my pain under control. The incision, wasn't a big pain, it was the horrid muscle spasms, where he attached the mesh. My surgeon came by ...

In Oct 08 I had gone in for a hernia repair. The hernia was located about 3/4 inch above my belly button. the surgery went fine and I went home the same day. He said I might have some pain for the next few weeks while it healed. But it may take a couple of months. For the next few months I was still in the same pain as I was before the surgery. I went back in to see him 4 months after the ...

I did the search function first and found nothing, soooo. I had emergency inguinal hernia repair this week and hope that SOMEONE ELSE WITH THE SAME SURGERY could help. My doctor and the surgeon do not spearfish so they cannot give me experienced spearing advice. I am mainly concerned about loading my RA120 post op. 1. How many days should I wait before trying to load even long bands. 2. ...

Two years ago I perforated a bowel due to undiagnosed diverticulits. I had a colostomy Colostomy Colostomy - series which was reversed 6 months later. Next came an incisional and stoma site hernia which was repaired (gortex mesh) 9 months ago. I am 43 years old and a former Physical Fitness Professional in the Canadian Forces. I would like to resume exercising which in...

So some of you may remember back in April i had a Hernia repair....well in my opinion its never really felt right since but the doc kept telling me it takes a full year for it to be 100% and some people i know that have had repairs have said when they use the mesh it never feels right and you always feel the mesh....so i kinda just blew it off and dealt with the funky feeling..... the past 2...

( Hi all, One of these days I'll get around to posting my 1 year post op stuff, but till then I have a question. The surgeon finally pulled his head out of his ass and LISTEND to me \(his flunky nurse 4 months ago said my stomach hurts cuz I over eat..grr\) and I will be having my 2 hernias removed. I know that I should up my protein, but to how much? I'm also gonna try to get my ...

Has anyone had a ventral hernia repair? I go in on december 4th for this, and am told i'll be in the hospital for several days. My doctor wouldn't give me an exact number. Which I didn't expect, but I hope the pain is no worse than after my reversal surgery. The same doctor is doing the hernia repair. What should I expect?? What can I do to prevent it again?? I have a huge hernia. Well, i'm sure...

( I'm walking that path now. But, I only had one hernia repair and not three. My panni also turned into an anchor tummy tuck due to the graciousness of a surgeon who thought "humm...I think Sylvia would look outstanding with the anchor cut". We discussed it before hand and I told him, I'd be happy with the panni or an anchor TT and he could decide after he did the hernia repair which he felt ...

Hi, An 'epigastric' hernia occurs anywhere between the umbilicus (belly button) and the xiphoid process (a small bone attached at the lower end of the breast bone). A 'True' umbilical hernia occur through the umbilicus. A 'Para-umbilical" hernia occurs generally just above the umbilicus (but, can also occur occasionally below or to one side of the umbilicus). You describe the hernia that you ...

Hey, All.. First, a big hearty "thanks" to all of you for making me feel a whole lot better about my situation. My problems seem minor compared to much of what I've read. I had a laparoscopic mesh repair 4 months ago, and am experiencing some of the issues described in here - shooting pains in the groin, slight nausea, can't seem to sit comfortably. My Doc said I'd be "good as new" after three ...

( Hi Kim! Good to see you. Last I heard from her was yesterday and she was safe and sound at her Mom's house and she was being taken care of. She said Tara was with her there too. I am sure she will be on her laptop soon and updating us all. But I know she was hurting more than she was last time. So I am hoping she is being well pampered by her Mama and Tara and sitting with her feet...

Edited on Tue Dec-08-09 12:09 PM by slackmaster I'll bet you haven't. Why would the reason for a procedure (meaning urgent and medically necessary vs. elective, which really means it doesn't have to be done at any particular time) be of any concern to a nurse?
