I have an E-Mu 1212m set sitting in a box. It's PCI. Is there any value to using a former "top notch" card like this for simple analog outputs to speakers on your typical X58-esque board with on-board HD audio?

I'm interested in using this item with my logitech x-530 pc speakers which output to the three 3.5mm channels on this box HD Audio Rush 5.1 Gear Sound Decoder for DM500s DM800 xbox360 to get true 5.1 audio via optical on my PS3. I'm not 100% sure if this would work tho as i'm using self powered PC speakers? Could anyone confirm if this would give me true 5.1 surround sound? Many thanks in ...

I have a Conexant HD AudioSmart 221 on my Compaq Presario F700 The computer randomly does not recognize the device and once in a while sees it again and then suddenly does not. I have to do some important video editing and it has messed me up. I have three separate questions. One, ...

This is driving me crazy. My PC runs great, but there is obviously an issue with the drivers for Realtek and Win 7. Sometimes I have sound, sometimes I don't. You just never know. Most of the time it doesn't even register that I have speakers. I've tried downloaded the driver from the HP site. I've also tried downloading the driver from Realtek's site. Nothing has worked yet. Still no ...

I have a macbook pro, and I have been told that I need to install the latest Realtek HD audio drivers, as the drivers included on the OSX cd are not the right ones. I have downloaded both the executable installer for the drivers, and the zip file, but whichever way I approach it, after installation and restarting, I'm left with a little red x over my audio icon in the bottom right, no sound, ...

I've connected my PS3 Slim to my Reciever via HDMI but I'm not getting the DTS HD Master Audio though my amp. Does anybody have any ideas? (I'm playing Mama Mia though Sony STR-DG820, Sound track is DTS HD Master Audio and is supported by the amp) In sound settings I've selected Automatic and see DTS HD Master Audio is listed.

Still no luck. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing drivers from HP and Realtek. Windows rarely ever recognizes that I have speakers plugged in. And if it does, it doesn't last long. What is going on? I really do not want to have to send this thing back. This is my 3rd replacement PC and it's finally running great. But the sound issue is ridiculous. Is this a Windows 7 thing? Why is...

Thanks for the screenshot, but I still can not say if the D: recovery partition is intact. It appears you have used the D: drive for a backup of your Data and possibly the Vista OS . This is a NO, NO. So the Recovery Patition may NOT be intact. The D: drive should have never been used for a backup location unless you have (or made) the Recovery CD/DVD disc for this ...
