I failed my 1 hour test with a 144. I was wondering if walking around while I waited (not excessively or anything) would have been better for me. When I was pg with Reese I drank the solution at home putzed around then went to the blood draw. This time I just sat there reading a magazine. I do want the test results to be what they will be, but when do I just sit around for hours. Just...

My doctor said I might be insulin resistant after looking at my lipid panel. He suggested maybe taking a glucose tolerance test. Anyway, I decided to try one at home using 75g of glucose and a home glucose meter. Here are the results fasting. 96 .5 hours 162 1 hour 129 2 hours 90 3 hours 66 4 hours 105 5 hours 90 that 66 seems low but might be from the cheap home monitor....

Hi Everyone, I was so confident that my 1 hr glucose tolerance test would be normal and it was high. I had this with Juliette too. The scary thing is that along with the high glucose with Juliette I developed pre ecclampsia.. Then Juliette has been having headaches. We are taking her to a pediatric neurologist next week. I am so concerned about her. 4 1/2 is too young for headaches even...

So i went in earlier this week at 27 weeks for a glucose tolerance test. I had no reason to think i had gestational diabetes but thought i would do the test anyways. My doctor called this morning saying that my level was "slightly elevated" 130 & under isnormal and my level was 146. They want me to go back and do the 3 hour test. At this point they told me that this doesnt mean i have ...

So last time I tried to post it didn't work. REALLY HOPING IT DOES THIS TIME!! So my friend declined her glucose tolerance test today, and was told she would have to get her blood drawn 4 times each day. She was also told that her baby would be treated as a diabetic and have to go straight to the nicu after delivery. Is this allowed? What can she do? Do you think the midwife is just trying ...

It's that time. I know when I go to my OB appointment next Tuesday that they will give me the slip to go take the test. I am pretty sure that I remember one of the nurses saying that it is non fasting now days. I have not taken this test since I was pregnant 6 years ago, then it was fasting. Anybody know if it is non fasting now? I failed the 1 hour last time, took the 3 hour and ...

I am extremely confused about the 3 hour glucose tolerance test. When I was given my Lab slip I went to the Lab and asked for directions. I was told that they did not have written directions, but that I needed to fast for 10 hours prior to my test being started. I will follow my directions, but what I am confused about is the diet I've heard about the 3 days prior to the test. I have seen many...
