Questions To Truckers From The General Public

Honestly, it never bothers me when a trucker moves into the passing lane as long as they aren't rude about it. If I am passing someone in my mini-van filled with children and I don't want to go over 70, then please don't pull directly behind me and ride my bumper until I can safely move over. That is quite intimidating, especially knowing that, should anything happen, my mini-van is most ...

As far as I know everything is still the same. I know that there were a couple guys who were in their fifties when I was at Dollar General. I won't lie to you, it is a kind of tough job. I think the worst part was not the unloading, but the trying to find time to get some good sleep. You have to be at the stores at 6 am, usually deliver to 3 or 4, and make it back to the terminal that night ...

Its not that motorhomes feel safer with the other lane there, they just dont want you to pass them, as they dont want to be behind you is all, then they cant be the leader lol..

Drivers in general, dont have respect for anybody. its this "new breed" of driver thats the problem. It's society in general. Couple of years ago, I was a manager at a bowling center (between trucking stints). Had my back to the register when I hear a voice calling out "Dude? Dude?". I turn around, and there is a boy of about 12 calling to me. I took a single step toward him and ...

As a General RULE in Trucking BE PREPAIRED!! Always have extra's of everything you "need". Radio's,antenna and mic are at the top of my list. Picking up cheap back up radios is very easy and there is hardly a day gone by that I havent heard of good radios for sale in TS for next to nothing($40-$75) You dont have to be in a TS to snag deals either, the highway is a rolling garage sale.

It's not just trucking it's people in general. we have become a society of ME ME ME NOW NOW NOW. When I was growing up I new everyone that lived within a mile of me and everyone looked out for each other. I live in a town of 500 people now for 2 years and have never met 1/2 my neighbors on the same block. People just don't care about anyone but themselves these days.
