So I need to replace my keyboard for my Gateway computer. Do I need a Gateway keyboard or is any keyboard compatible? I know this is a stupid question, but didn't they use to be kind of "only Gateway stuff!" about their computers?

I recently had a crash on my Gateway desktop computer. When we were able to restore it, our microsoft works was not on it. What can we do to get it back without buying the whole packet all over again? 1 person needs an answer I do too

My computer had been on for about 3 hours since my last use. The power light was out, the activity light was out, but I could hear the fan running. I turned it off and turned off the power to the computer. This did nothing. When I turn it back on I still hear the fan, there is a light on my cd drive, but no power or activity lights. gateway (to my knowledge) uses standard PC components so any keyboard (I would use USB) should work. There is no such thing as a “Gateway Keyboard” - Gateway just buys generic keyboards from a maker and re-brands them as part of a license agreement. There is nothing special about them. Just get a USB keyboard and all should be fine.

If MS Works came preinstalled on your Gateway, you would have received a reinstallation CD for it. At least every Gateway computer I've seen in my long years of doing professional tech support has had this. Check around the house. If you've lost your reinstallation CD, you can try contacting Gateway for a replacement. If they won't help, then I'm afraid you must purchase Works if you want to run...
