OK, so I've been reading the posts trying to get some ideas on where/if its my fuel pump kill switch... a lot of the posts I've been reading sound very familiar... before what i believe was the fuel pump that went my poor Betty,(97 neon), was have stalling and coughing issues... stalling at lights and coughing on the freeway if i was doing under 70 mph... and one night i was coming home when ...

Fuel Pump Kill switch.?

Can i just cut the main power wire for the fuel pump, extend both ends with like 5 feet of 18 gauge wire and then solder the 18g wire to a switch? or do i need relays or anything else that makes it more complicated?lol I researched alittle and found the fuel pump power wire is yellow and i can find it somewhere by the passengers feet, but could i just pick up the back seats and find the wire...

i read that the power line to the fuel pump was yellow, but when i took the back seats out and got to the fuel pump i found 5 wires.. 2 black, 1 greenish/teal, i yellow with a blueish stripe, and 1 black and yellow wire. i was leaning towards splicing one of the 2 wires with yellow but which one of them is it?

stock fuel pump kill switch

Is there a factory fuel pump kill switch in the 1990 eclipse's? I couldn't find anything on it, but i'm going to look at a motor and the car was wrecked so im thinking it was a pinched wire, but i'm getting this motor cheap if it checks out alright. Just need a quick answer to that question to eliminate pain. If there is one how do you reset it?

ive instaled it before on a civic and a prelude... doese anyone know what color is the wire from the fuel pump to the ignition????

I believe the one goin from the ECU to the pump is grn/yel (pin E1). If your goin from the ignition switch itself there is 1 white wire thats goin from the ignition switch to the fuse box and a blk/yel from the ignition to the ECU (pin E9). The wire comin from the fuel pump to the 2nd main relay is yel/blue then from their to the ignition wire its blk/yel.

No! Oil light is supposed to be on while turning over. Leave oil alone, that's not your problem. Check fuel pump, kill switch, ignition, etc. The easiest stuff first.
