Hello, I recently did an upgrade of Xorg (hoping to fix video crashes) and now openoffice fonts have gone huge. The size of the UI font is extremely large, and most of the dialogs get clipped. I tried changing the font using the substitution workaround suggested at http://www.openoffice.org/FAQs/fontguide.html#8 , but this didn't work (you can't set font size). Hmm. As it turns out, I had to modify /etc/X11/xorg.conf and add the DisplaySize variable. Nasty hack, as I actually have two monitors in clone mode. Code: Select all Section "Monitor"         DisplaySize 325 260         Identifier      "Configured Monitor" EndSection

@ w1ko I too found windowz fonts looking different whenever I opened my documents in Open Office. But it works fine now.

eta: never mind - got it figured out. I hadn't "unzipped" the file. Hurrah! Now I can make handwriting sheets with dirctional arrows! I have version 3.1 and I have 2 cursive fonts (with directional arrows!) I want to download to use and I can't make it work. I can find directions for v2.1 but not for 3.0 or higher. I've added them to "fonts" in my control panel but they're not ...
