This 1977 fj40 landcruiser has been built from the ground up with no expenses spared. I will try and list all the things that have been done over the years to this vehicle but the pictures will tell the rest. A friend of mine started this restoration back in the late 80's - early 90's. During this time it was taken down to the frame and everything put back was new. The engine is a stroked ...

Hello there. After probably two years thinking about it, I finally went ahead and bought a 1970 FJ40 from a man in Winnsboro, LA. I bid on it on eBay and eded up buying it for $3,550.00 the car does not seem to have over 100K. The engine sounds and starts pretty well. The car was kept in Colorado for most of its life, with a horrible almost agonizing ending in Louisiana (with all due ...

I purchased a set of 5 white OEM wheels and had them sand blasted and powder coated white. They appear to be a shade (or two) whiter than the original wheels, but they look great. The top of my 1982 FJ40 (color code 033) appears to be the same color of the body an not a whiter color (see picture below). Is this correct or is it likely a PO repainted the top to match the creamy off-white of the...

I have an FJ40 FST, made in '66 and registered in '67. Did the '66 have a rear heater? It appears that I have a coolant hose that has been plugged, and there is an empty bracket below it. But I didn't think that the '66 had a rear heater.

So I'm trying to figure out what to do for sliders on the 40. I like this sort of design from 4 Plus: 4+Plus FJ40 Rock Sliders W/Step I like the stock look of these, but I'm concerned about mounting sliders on the body. With the 60, I had body mounted sliders which worked awsome 95% of the time, until I slide off a rock sideways, and with no support from the inside, it bent the ...

30 minute long "commercial" for Porsche where they are rolling out the new Panamera. Pretty interesting (no great though). All Porsches throughout the documentary except for one guy who drives out of his garage in a nice FJ40 on his way to rock climbing. Thought it was interesting that a 40 would make it in a P commercial! Says a lot! Land Cruisers and Porsches... best you can get!...

After a ton of help, thanks, the new fuel pump is not bringing any fuel from the full tank to the filter. I am going to now tank the tank out, have it refurbished (unless anyone has a good clean one for sale) clean out all lines leading to fuel filter and hope that is the answer to why my 40 still will not start. I have replaced the rubber lines to filter, new filter, new line to new fuel pump ...

I asked this question over in the 45 section but figured I'd ask here too. I need to replace the two front rusted floor sections in my RHD 1980 HJ45 Troopy. I tried to order them from IPOR today and they said the 40s were different than the 45s. I thought the whole front tub section was the same on a 45 Troopy as a 40/42 series. Anyone done this fix and have experience with it?

I have a 91 GMC K2500 4x4 that I have recently replaced just about everything there is to replace on it. If I sold it now I would be throwing like 5 grand away. Cosmetically she's not perfect but pretty rugged. Yet, I still have a few things to do, and I admit I'm no professional mechanic, though I have a high school votech degree. I never learned much about transmissions, transfer cases, ...

I have a 77 fj40. Factory seats rebuilt with SOR seat covers and new fitted bottom foam. The problem I'm having is that the seat runners are physically too wide. From center to center I'm 20 1/8 side to side on the seat. The mounting brackets are 19 5/8 center to center. There is some play in the openings allowing for some offset, but with a center console that I have from CCOT it's just not ...
