for sending email in asp.net i imported system.net.mail namespace. in web.config file i configured system.net settings.it is asking my smtp server host and port.i dont know how to find the my systems smtp server host and port. for that purpose i gave localhost and port no is 465.but it shows error failure mail sending . for overcome this error what should i do....

Hi, I followed the steps to configure smtp.gmail.com as the outgoing email server, changed the port to 465, but outgoing email still doesn't seem to be working ... Anybody who might have configured this? (I tried with netcat and I can open smtp.gmail.com port 465 from the CRM server). Just want to say that I got the same problem a year ago. I installed KB927478 without doing the test you're doing now (disabling SenderID). No more hanging SMTP connections since then.
