well the dipstick, is routed strait down to the pan normally, but not all the way to the bottom, so like a straw in a cola, you wont be able to get all of it out. and depending on how short the tube stops, there may be a significant amount left. i guess for the older cars with the oil filler in the valve cover.. they are SOL.

After reading about how the older Husqvarna thumpers have a crap oil system and then reading how the newer Huskies have a trochoidal oil pump to supply the head I thought about how you could supplement the oiling system in an older Husky. Looking at pictures of newer Huskies it seems that the trochoidal pump has been simply tacked on one side of the motor, with the reed valve still supplying ...

So you were thinking of doing it to mainly cool your oil? I was thinking of doing this so the bike can be ridden any old way and any old how (say 2 hours at 120km/h constant if you liked) without any oiling issues. So i'd want to direct the oil to wherever the standard oiling system is weakest. I'd imagine the spots you want it would be the head cos it's up high and probably has the weakest ...

Yeah, I see what you are getting at (and my temp gauge does indeed run off my sump on that car). Also i'd imagine that operating temps would differ quite alot between different types of engines and so on as well. The pumps I've looked at are rated up to around 150 degrees C (302 degrees F) constantly so they will probably do the job just fine (especially if a cooler is added to the system ...

hey, im in the works of adapting a electric oil pump in my rx7 turbo. I want the pump to be a guarantee of oil feed to the motor. I will be installing a hobbs low pressure switch for safety. The pump is a full power on all the time pump meaning anywhere between 50-100 PSI on idle. I just wanted to know whats the normal oil pressure reading at idle, what will high oil ...

You have two choices, cable joystick operated or electric handheld operated western pump setups. As long as your engine is running strong, I would work it. Make sure you get an oil change before the season starts.
