I remember seeing a website a year or so back that was for a Hyundai dealer that promised decent horsepower gains by reprogramming the ecu for higher octane gas, with as much as 10-12 horsepower for the Accent depending on the octane you had available. All you had to do was send in the ECU and wait for them to ship it back. Anyone remember who this was?

I think i'm posting this in the right area. Anyway my car had gotten some water damage a few days ago. Its still drying out. But my ECU got wet while in power and got damaged. Story short. Car was sitting in a foot of water and water got inside the car((but I didn't know that water was in the until I moved it)). Went to move the car((started up perfectly fine)) and moved it. When I ...

If your ECU was damaged by water, reprogramming is not going to help at all, you'll just need a new one. That said, there's probably more than one thing wrong with your car and the ECU isn't necessarily the problem. Good luck figuring it all out...

Hello, The SES light came on last night for the third time on my Maxima 5-gen at ~ 95K. This occurred couple of times over the year, stayed on for couple of weeks, and eventually cleared by itself. There is no noticeable changes in driving capabilities, but once the engine reaved up unexpectedly while barely touching the gas - kind of scary. Went this morning to Autozone and they have ...

Has anyone reprogrammed the Sport and Comfort modes? For example, change the settings on "Comfort" to start at 1st gear? Basically, I never use the Comfort setting, and I am sure I can manage on rain without it, so thinking of ECU tuning to make the "Comfort" into "Super-Sport", is it possible?

i have an 08 gt...when i removed my mufflers it felt sluggish i was told i could fix it by detaching the battery and reprogramming the ecu...if i detached the battery would the ecu reprogram to compensate for the different a/f ratio?..therefore getting rid of the sluggishness And also if i reprogrammed my car via detaching the battery is it capable of "learning" to use 93 octane to gain a ...

I have never seen one, so I don't know for sure, but as far as I know the axone does work on the SR50, but only does data / diagnostics and not ECU reprogramming... (I could be wrong) A document I read about the dash specifically said the axone could be used to load updated firmware into the digidash, but as far as I know there has never been an update released for the dash... If you find out...

Only if you remove the stock emissions devices. if you integrate the later ECU emissions functions so as to NOT defeat the vapor system and retain EO cats and the check engine light can and does operate then you can present it as an upgraded vehicle. Vapor and cat should be the only thing required to pass. Vapor systems all work the same, the engine vacuum pulls vapors through the engine from ...

I know differant states have differing requirements but if I understand things correctly (and I may very well don't) as long as the engine is newer and all emissions for that engine are retained, it's legal. For an engine swap for example, of a 96 Camaro LT1/auto they'll probably look at engine numbers to verify the engine. Then they'll look to see all required emission parts for *that* engine ...
