Hi, I had overclocked my E6750 previously to 3Ghz no problem. Having been off the boil with PC gaming / overclocking for a bit now, I am just starting to get back into it again. The problem is my CPU will no longer hold my overclock. On its boot up after fiddling in the bios, it just reverts back to the standard 2.66ghz every time no matter what I change! found a article on another site with the same issues your having and it seems that gigabyte has an issue with some of that model board updating or downgrading the bios can help apparently

Hi, My E6750 processor will not hold my overclock anymore which was 3ghz. Alway goes back to stock. Motherboard is a Gigabyte: GA-965P-S3 Computer fails to boot everytime I try to do it, even play with volts and memory tweaks etc to see if that's the prob but no luck. Could it be the battery on my motherboard not keeping its memory / may replace with new one?

It definitely sounds like the motherboard to me, a new one might be in order, if you can try the processor in another S775 motherboard and see if it still clocks
