About four months ago, I started doing pullups. My program was essentially at least twenty pullups, five times a day. For a while, it worked fine. Got from the point where I couldn't even lift myself from the ground to the point where I could lift my chin above the bars at least four times per workout. I came off a 5 day lay off from working out. I took a break, didn't diet, and drank two days out of the 5. I got back at it today however. I warmed up by doing a high intensity circuit of 4 sets of 3 min's on the Mountain Climber machine. After each set I did a set of pulllups until failure. I do FULL PULLUPS. Never half pullups. Very possibly your pec minor rather than your pec major. If you've strained your pec major it should hurt like hell to do any chest work. Depending on where the pain is, it could also be the costochondral articulation (as marblehead alluded to). Can you clarify this for us so we can start with the right diagnosis.
