only one format is not acceptable when you pay 750 dollars for the software + hardware =] I get all my videos in mpg and i cant get a smooth way to convert them to mp4 if not the video quality is bad, the sound quality is bad etc...so i think that would be a nice add on. Also screen saver type effects for when not using a video file.

lol but imo DVJs are not practical. Its not difficult for a software to read multiple formats, a DVD player reads only dvds.

Try Debugmode frameserver (http://www.debugmode.com/frameserver/). It creates a dummy avi file that can be fed to your Archos.
