Dear all, Although Saab recommend fully synthetic engine oil for my car, a good chat with the main dealer service department today has given me food for thought. He stated that as my car had done a fair few miles (131k), a semi-synthetic oil would be better, as when it reaches operating temperature, it would keep its viscosity, as opposed to fully synthetic, which becomes similar to a water like...

does anyone have a definitive answer on what engine oil a diesel JK should have, because i am confused. The owners manual states (p147): with DPF = 5W-30 fully Synth without DPF = 0W-40 fully Synth Which sounds odd to me, in my (somewhat limited) understanding i would expect the DPF vehicles to require better oil so the DPF has less to filter out and therfore a longer life, but maybe...

Remove all Advertisements Is it a realistic proposition to use diesel engine oil in a high performance 4 banger engine. I ask this as the cost of Motol, Motoerex and Belray etc. is getting ludicrously expensive. In Aussie we do not get some of the cheaper oils such as Rotella that a lot of chaps seem to use successfully in the States.

Hey everyone, am wondering if someone could help me please. I need to get some engine oil for my Seat Leon 1.9TDi (52 plate) but can't remember which grade I purchased last time. Should it be 15w 40? Can anyone advise or point me in the direction of a reliable source online please? Many thanks.

I was checking the oil when I happened to notice that the plastic cap that closes the engine oil filler/top up tube was perforated with about 8 holes right through the plastic. The holes are irregular in shape and size with the appearance that they have been eaten through by acid or a squirrel. However, there is no sign of acid burn or any other residue anywhere else, abd the filler cap sits ...

Appologies if this is in the incorrect forum, how ever im not sure where the CLC Diesel Coupe falls under in the sections. In the last 2 days ive had a message come up on the dash asking me to check the engine oil levels next time i refuel. In prepration for this, Ive been trying to figure out what oil i should put in to top up. Im certainly not going back to a dealer to get them to do it...

Does the owners manual for the Diesel Say anything about using a grade of oil like C3 or DL1? if so it would be best reccommended to use these. If the Diesel's run a DPF filter and you dont run a oil that meets the Specs (dont confuse with oil weight or thickness) it will slowly block the DPF all the one we've replaced at work are in the vicinity of 3-4000 dollars and not warratable if found to ...

M-B's internal engine code for the Mitsu 3B21 is "M132." "M" = "Motor;" "1" = a gasser. The Suprex gasser is M160; a Suprex diesel is OM660. OM = "Ölmotor" (oil motor), and all passenger car diesel codes begin with "6." The logic of "32" falls in with the previous 30s codes for the Mitsu/DC engines for the smart forfour: M134 (4A90, 1.3L gasser) and M135 (4A91, 1.5L gasser); and OM639, a ...
