Remove all Advertisements Is it a realistic proposition to use diesel engine oil in a high performance 4 banger engine. I ask this as the cost of Motol, Motoerex and Belray etc. is getting ludicrously expensive. In Aussie we do not get some of the cheaper oils such as Rotella that a lot of chaps seem to use successfully in the States.

Hey everyone, am wondering if someone could help me please. I need to get some engine oil for my Seat Leon 1.9TDi (52 plate) but can't remember which grade I purchased last time. Should it be 15w 40? Can anyone advise or point me in the direction of a reliable source online please? Many thanks.

I was checking the oil when I happened to notice that the plastic cap that closes the engine oil filler/top up tube was perforated with about 8 holes right through the plastic. The holes are irregular in shape and size with the appearance that they have been eaten through by acid or a squirrel. A friend of mine bought a '92 bighorn 3.1 diesel. he's having issues with his oil pressure. there is an oil pump attached and driven from the back of the alternator. Is this the only oil pump, or is there one ine the sump like an ordinary engine would have? Upon starting, his pressure hits the #8 on his gauge then drps to #3ish but has been dropping to around the#2 mark lately. Normal? his level ...

Appologies if this is in the incorrect forum, how ever im not sure where the CLC Diesel Coupe falls under in the sections. In the last 2 days ive had a message come up on the dash asking me to check the engine oil levels next time i refuel. In prepration for this, Ive been trying to figure out what oil i should put in to top up. Im certainly not going back to a dealer to get them to do it...

hey guys i really need some help with my engine problem. i was driving a couple of weeks ago and my oil light came on. i topped up the oil and the light came on again a few days later, an then it started to sound worse then a diesel! i've had some ppl say its the oil pump but i dont have a clue... the car has never given me any probs before but i dont wanna take it to the garage without ...

Have a Craftsman tractor with a 26hp Kohler 120 hrs.Currently using Rotella 10w30.OCI @ around 25hrs. Looking at Amsoil small engine oil.Or even their Diesel 10w30 oil.Any comments or sugestions appreciated.Thanks.
