Hi all, I'm renewing the hoses of my '90 RRC powersteering and to fill her up I have some leftovers of Dexron II and Dexron III. Which one is recommended, can I mix them or does it has to be 'single malt' ? Greetz, Tony.

Perhaps this has been asked before, but if you wanted to flush/drain/refill/whatever your vehicle's ATF and your vehicle was originally spec'ed for Dexron II (because Dexron III did not exist at the time your vehicle was manufactured) and both Dexron II & III are available in the brand of your choice , which Dexron would you use and why? I would go with Dexron III but I'd like to hear other ...

Good to hear! The dino Dexron II/III typically should be changed out 15K miles during severe service and 30K miles during normal service. In general the Aisin A-series transmissions (A140E?) are not the cleanest. Mobil-1 will still be good at those intervals, but keep an eye on it around 15K miles to see if the transmission is dumping crap again into the fluid. The fluid should still look red...

Most ps systems use Dexron III (older vehicles may indicate II but III should be fine) but check your OM to be sure. Murray
