I would like to add that in high wind, should you be attempting to receive a very distant station (91 miles in my case), the wind may rock the antenna up and down and cause a fluctuation in signal strength...if it's a marginal signal to start with, dropouts will occur. Luckily, I rarely/briefly have this issue.
