hello, I've read the previous posts here and see where you are overriding the sensors when you press and hold the wallmount button for the gdoor opener. The system is only about 3 years old. A couple months ago - the remotes started acting up - we replaced the batteries and it still didn't fix the problem of sometimes working and sometimes not working. Already figured out the 5 blinks. Motor must have overheated while checking last night. I unplugged unit and replugged and blinking has stopped with no change in the travel of the door down. Any thought?

I followed the instructions in my manual to program my homelink for my Craftsman garage door opener to no avail. When it flickers to show that it's programmed, it will not work. Can anyone tell me what's the right way of programming this? Thanks.

This oldie still is a goody - except the on/off switch for the light is erratic. Model 139.655000, has a leaf switch to connect/disconnect light circuit. Parts no longer available from Sears, but it seems like I should be able to get such a switch. I've cleaned the terminals, and bent the leaves slightly with varying degrees of success. Anytime the door reverses when it is closing and the main light flashes 10 times it is a sensor problem. Sometimes the sensors can be misaligned ever so slightly and both their lights will be on but if you look real close you will see one is blinking. Tweak them just a bit. If this doesn't work you most likely have ban sensors.

To answer your question here as to why the machine may have overheated and/or why the problem went away after unplugging it is that Chamberlain machines have a built in thermocouple that will disable the unit to prevent further damage (overheating the motor, blowing the starting capacitor, etc.) And sometimes unplugging the machine reboots the system and clears out the "ghosts in the machine." ...
