Having experienced intermittent internet connection for the past 5 or 6 weeks, I decided to call Orange customer service to report the problem and I have regretted it dearly since then. Basically, they told me that I had unstable line and my broadband connection speed was downgraded from about 4-5 Mbps to as little as 0.5 Mbps. I called them many times in an attempt to fix this problem ...

I have been using the minify device for since summer and it has been pretty decent but since the droid came out it has gotten progressively slower and now I have to retry pages constantly. It took me 20 minutes to create an ID and post this message. Should have been a 5 minute operation.   I am a computer tech with 30 years experience and I have tried 3 different computers so don' tell me this...

Hi MacPeople I just upgraded my internet connection from 15/3 to a 30/4 Mbit/s. But I only get a 17/4 connection through my AirPort Express?. If I plug the connection directly from the modem to my iMac instead of the AirPort Express, then I get the the full 30/4 Mbit/s which I have paid for. Can it really be that you can not get more speed out of a AirPort Express? My AirPort ...

I upgrade to Snow Leopard some time back. Immediately upon upgrading, I experienced enormous slow downs when trying to connect to my network storage space on my department's servers. I am based at a university with 15 mbps down and 5 mbps up as typical transfer speeds. Now, upon connecting to my network share, it often takes upwards of 30 seconds just to open a folder, and ...

Any suggestions? BTW my internet is great so its not my ISP that is the problem.   Thanks.

Why are you testing files that are under 20KB in size? At those sizes, random fluctuations in the server speed, or the latency in the connection, are going to be a much greater source of variance than the download speeds you can make. I would be surprised, doing 20KB files, if you see speeds that even resemble each other, if you re-test multiple times on the same file from the same location. ...
