Okay, so apparently my laptop just looks at the residential gateway, or so it seems, workgroups seem to be phased out. So the compaq doesn't even know about the residential gateway as an object, it just receives it's internet connection from the router like we're all used to. The compaq uses workgroups.... How in the world do I network these two pc's?
