Having been in touch with HP on this, they are saying that there will be a Windows 7 version of the Compaq 311c available in the UK soon.    I will post an update when I have timescales and any other details.   I am now trying to decide whether to buy an XP version and upgrade it myself - the costs might not be so different.

I started off with a couple of dell precisions a 420 and a 210, and a compaq AP400 a few years ago. But when I left the UK I had to leave them all behind. I got my feet wet with those, they were ex-bank stock and so heavily worn. They were all dual P3's when Athlon's were just hitting the 3000. But, they ran solid as a rock.
