I recently bought a colt xse government and 4 mags. I had to mail order ammo since there is none available in my area to by. So I think I will just shoot 22cal.(I have ammo)

have a Colt XSE stainless in 45 ACP. This gun had night sites on it that went dead, and I have swapped the rear out for a Novak. The front site is still the dead night sight. It is in excellent condition, and has mostly been sitting in a safe over the years. I don't shoot much any more, so am trying to thin things out. $650. Located in South Georgia. PM if interested.

In 1-2 months i'll be getting another pistol, maybe a springfield XD but I also won't do away with gettinga 1911. My only problem is the reliability issue. Anyone here who has knowledge about which brand or model of the two I listed will likely be better made?

I am looking to get a new 1911 and have an opportunity to get an XSE stainless gov't model for $875. Is this a good price? Do owners like this gun? Thanks for any help.

Well, I got my XSE Combat Commander back today from my Armorer. He adjusted the extractor and sure enough, that gun ran like a top for almost 200 rounds. No FTF, FTE's, etc. Did a bunch of combat drills and 100%. OK...I love my Colt again. A good shooting gun, I just need to get used to the thumb safety again.

I was just wondering when Colt started making the XSE series? I have one on lay a way as we speak, the blue model XSE Government (O1980XSE). I had never seen one until I put this one on lay a way. It laid in the shop I work in for a couple days and I just could not stand it any longer! I had to have it. It is unfired, new in the box. Getting it for $700.

NO this isn't a "Is that a good price thread," its a, I just found one for that price NIB and grabbed it and ran like a bandit, so get jeallous! Shoots well too. Ran 100 rounds through her to start out with a little while ago. No problems whatsoever. Colt does a good job on the feed ramp. I'm getting my gunsmith to fit a real beaver-tail safety and a Wilson safety lever on it ...

Just got my XSE 5" Gov't a couple days ago and want to replace BT. can anyone suggest that'll work/ drop in for the XSE gov't ? as much as possible, I want to avoid taking it to a GS but if this the only way, I probably won't have a choice.

Bill: My early model SS CC XSE had its front sight depart from the slide while I was shooting it. That sight was the stake into the slide type.
