This is a subject I don't know enough about. What exactly did the apostles do in the early stages of the Church? One thing I do know is that Protestants view it differently from us. I'm currently having a discussion with a Protestant who has said that the apostles' only role was spreading the Good News. Obviously we don't believe that to be their only role.
