Folks, Think I want to purchase a Springfield Armory Champion 1911 Pistol, SPX9149LPFC, D. They have stainless and "Duo Tone" models. Any reason not to get the "Duo Tone"? www.1911.com (Green Bay, WI.) sells them at (what seems to be) a good price. Have any of you dealt with them? If so, are they a good seller? Would you buy from them again?...

I almost bought the Champion. Only thing that changed me to the 5" Loaded was that I wanted a 'full-size' 1911 to see what the hype was all about Can't say I'm addicting to 1911s (compared to my Glocks and Berettas), but their is a nice nostalgia to them, nearly 100 year old design, innovative, classic...

This gun is in perfect condition with low round count . I just bought it a week ago and its killing me to have to sell it but I own a business and we had a horrible year my guys deserve a good christmas bonus which means I dont get a paycheck this week (my kids need christmas too). It has a 4" match grade stainless bull barrel match trigger, costom grips and original cocco grips 2 mags ...

FWIW I carried a Springfield Armory Champion for several months after I qualified with it. While I could make the gun run I could not do so under stress. I found several times that I would not sweep the safety off. I trained initially with a Springfield XD and then Glock.I didnt not have the time to retrain and I got rid of the 1911 after the stress thing was realized
