ok putting it into mastercook it looks like with 1/2 the liquid and no flour you end up with 3 net carbs per serving (with 5 servings per recipe) However, if I sub out the evaporated milk for heavy cream and then use carbalose instead of flour, i get 3 net carbs as well. Whatcha think? * Exported from MasterCook * Spinach Madeleine (...

Silk brand soy milk in the green carton is creamy tasting and can be subbed for half n half or heavy cream. It has only 3 net carbs per cup. My Super Walmart carries it near the regular milk in the refrigerator section. i use it in coffee, or tea, and in low carb muffin recipes, also to make cheese sauce.

I agree. I now substitute light soymilk ( 2 carbs) for anything that calls for milk. I do use heavy whipping cream once in awhile in desserts. I think buttermilk is lowering in carbs, too.

97. We had friends over for dinner last night, and, while I didn't do anything rash, I did have a vanilla shake (ice cream mix that failed to set up) an hour and a half before going to bed. No carbs except what's in heavy cream normally (7 grams per cup), but I usually sit up until 3 hours after I've eaten. Was too tired last night.
