There were 2,102 Grand nationals produced that year, so it is possible he’s telling the truth…however, while it was turbocharged, it was not intercooled. In 86 they added the intercooler ( makes a big difference ), upgraded turbo, better exhaust system and modified the upper and lower intake manifolds…this of course added up to more horsepower and torque ( which is why we love these cars...
