Hi, It appears I am in credit with BG by about £200. Now would you...... (A) Ask for the money from BG and use it to pay off some of your credit card balance (B) Leave it where it is bearing in mind you are likely to use it over the winter period. Thanks

Hi all, My mum was recently put on a prepay meter. There is an arrangement that the British Gas take some money every week to pay off her debt. What I'm finding though is that the money doesn't last long at all, and just want to know whether it's normal, or whether there is something wrong with ours. I know everyone has different uses, but I'm trying to get some sort of idea of the cost a...

Hi, help please. I took out a British Gas loan and I'm trying to find out how much is left on it. I've contacted British Gas but they won't help! They say they don't offer it. I googled it and they used to but they don't anymore. I'm still left with this loan and I don't even know if it's expired or not. I don't know who to contact as British Gas have been so unhelpful. I've asked about three ...

However a few weeks back they cold called about taking out one of those policies for servicing and repair of services. mrs blazer told them no, they insisted it was a wonderful service and as my name was on the account they would need to speak to me! She told them that would say the same. We ...

hi Today I had a telephone interview with British Gas. I was hopeful as I had yet to fail a telephone interview. I put my toddler to bed and later on commenced the interview. However my ds woke up and came toddling in causing me to be distracted and panic. The questions involved me remembering lots of information and repeating it in my own style. Anyway I did awful at it ...

Has anyone in the past been issued with a detector by British Gas. I paid £35 for mine in 2002 and was told by the installer it was a one off purchase and would be replaced every five years. The batterys needed replacing in 2005 and was sent off and returned without a hitch. Today the power light is bleeping intermitently and I have rang them and they said the five year guarrentee has expired...

Am I being lined up for a shafting? British Gas. Today we've had an engineer around to try an sort an issue with our combi boiler. Essentially the hot water, taps and shower, will run hot and then abruptly cold (usually when you have a face full of shampoo ). Anyone considering/already signed up for this? http://www.britishgas.co.uk/energysmart-help.html I like the look of it since my meter is locked away in my garage and I suffer from constantly estimated bills. Being able to manage the usage month by month is attractive. Plus, you get a free energy meter!

British Gas, who have a well deserved and publicised indifference and arrogance to their customers, have, it seems in these troubled financial times, now diversified from being a utility provider to a, erm, "bank".....as I will explain. When I moved to my new hovel, I decided to continue with the dual fuel contract with BG. I was duly informed that, as a new customer ( ignore the past 25 ...

Did they think people got a thrill out of guessing what the difference between the British Gas estimate and the reality would be? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8375… Your thoughts?
My son has just moved into his first home - current suppliers are British Gas for both electricity and gas. I told him to phone up and ask for the cheapest tariff with no cancellation fee so that he could look into switching to another supplier. I had already looked at their website and saw that the OnlineSaver tariff would be the cheapest with no cancellation fee - Websaver does have a fee...

Hi, First off I don't want to leave British Gas even if there are better suppliers out there. I'm happy with my service that they provide me. My fixed tariff (Gas Price Guarantee Dec 2009 for both Gas and Electricity) is coming due at the end of the year and I wondered if BG were offering any more fixed tariffs. I saw a tv ad last night, which was advertising their Engery Smart product. ...
