Question 1: Can I take a CD which has an autorun feature which loads what is an essentially an image viewer to view images on the CD, and copy the contents onto a usb flash drive, such that I can run the program and view the images from the flash drive when I plug it in? Question 2: Is transferring data from a flash drive into RAM faster than transferring from the average CD/drive? ...

Hi, I've created a bootable Ubuntu USB flash disk. Is there any way to retain any installed software on the boot disk so that next time I boot from it, it is already there ? For example it doesn't come with Wine installed, I can install Wine once booted, but if I reboot it has gone. I'd like this to be available next time I boot.

Hey guys, I discovered this the other day while doing a google search for how to make a bootable USB stick to install Windows 7 onto my netbook. It doesn't seem to be very well known yet. I used it and it worked like a charm. Just point the program to your Windows 7 ISO, plug in your USB stick, and let it do its magic. Obviously make sure you dont have any data on the USB stick, as it ...

This may be a stupid question, but here goes. Is there a way to use portable apps from portableapps.com on a bootable USB flash drive with UBCD4WIN on it? Why would I want to do this, you ask? Well I travel 3 weeks out of a month and I frequently use other peoples computers. I have a 4GB Pico drive (tiny little stainless steel waterproof USB flash drive) on my key chain with PortableApps.com...

I have a bootable Leopard DMG image that I'd like to burn to a USB stick. I want to be able to boot off the USB stick if I need to for AHT or OS reinstall. The DMG image is 6.8GB and the USB stick is 8GB. Disk Utility will not let me burn to a USB - only SuperDrive (my SuperDrive is SL DVD-R (4.7GB) burner anyway). I figure if I just mount the DMG image and then drag everything ...

I have a stripped down version of XP, as an ISO, which I want to put on a netbook (which has no CD/DVD Drive) I need to create a bootable USB so I can do this. All of the online solutions seem to require a Windows machine to do this, but I only have a Mac. Any suggestions?
