When you buy a new machine (from a dealer, COSTCO, Sears, wherever) the rail, chain/belt, sensors, and switches all come in the box. I guess if you wanted to keep the other parts are "back-up" then fine, but you already paid for the parts anyway, why not replace them all new? If you really want to save time/money, then I would call the manufacturer of your existing machine and order a new ...

I think it's best used when a child is unable to understand fully why what they're doing is wrong. My brother used to play with the garage door opener a lot when he was really young, and he broke it a few times. So once my mom caught him, she spanked him so he would know he was not supposed to do that. He didn't understand why he shouldn't do it, but he knew not to after that. Same thing ...

That'll be a relief of sorts... I was listening to a talk show this morning while driving home, and the topic was reducing energy consumption in the home. Several reasonable suggestions. Some harebrained (turn off your garage-door opener when it's not being used) But then came the doozy...I can't help but wonder about the woman who said it... We should all unplug our wine ...

Homelink Keeps Losing GDO Code Hi, I have an 2006 Ody EX-L RES which has recently started to "forget" the garage door opener code to the 3 year old Genie Excellerator. When the Ody was new, I programmed the rolling GDO "Intellicode" w/o any issues & it worked flawlessly for about 2 yrs until the Homelink started acting up. Thinking it was just a fluke, I cleared all HL codes & ...

I'm looking for anyone with the knowledge and/or experience with installing a factory security system on an 07 Street Bob with a Dakota Digital MCV_7000 series speedo/tach/info gauge. I looked at all the forums on this topic and know how to marry the key fob to the ECM, but the manual procedure for this involves watching the security lamp go on and off numerous times. The problem (question) ...

I am renting a house with a garage door that has an opener. It is an older model Sears craftsman opener, there is no known remotes only a keypad on the wall attached with a wire. The Keypad has one large pale gray "open/close" button at the top, a small gray lock button at the bottom right and a button for the light on the left. The door has opened itself three times in the evening when no one ...

And I should have investigated. Someone rifled thru our garage and my purse was stolen! Ok I cant believe this, I live a rural area, we never leave our garage open and I never leave my purse in DH car, guess what, thats what happened last night. Jake woke me up about 4 am barking like crazy. I thought it was the coyotes that always get him riled up, but I didnt hear any. I went ...

I'm trying to help a friend who has a Craftsman garage door opener which just stopped working. According to him, I have not been to see it yet, the main controller in the garage and all the remotes do not work. The main controller is blinking a green light and the unit is humming. He said the light on the unit turns on if he pushes the main controller light button. Therefore, it's...
