Gday, Would like to get transmit and receive audio (one direction at a time) and RS232 (CI-V) control over about 100m of Cat5 to an Icom 7000 radio in the roof using Ham Radio Deluxe s/w. Only problem is I am already using 4 cores for a switch in the roof, so only have 4 cores left for non ip stuff. I have a home made serial to CI-V converter (RS232 to TTL?) built on a D9. Would ...

As eeprommemory said, or run the RS232 over IP , plenty of interfaces available but they can be pricey. Or mount a low end networked PC up there with the rig and control via RDP?
