I am in a position where a friend of mine wants to buy me a house. She is going to buy the house as a cash purchase and transfer the ownership to me, giving me the deeds. Is there anything I need to be aware of, would this be in the catagory of IHT? The house is currently valued at £195,000 but she is going to extend it to make a four bedroom, I expect the building work to cost approx £30...

I have a suggestion for the upcoming winter holidays. How about a 1 day opportunity to gift FV cash to your friends. Because of my background, I suggest Christmas day. It doesn't have to be much (i.e. 10 dollars or can be based on a farmer's current level attained). This might be a fun way to spread the holiday cheer.

I'm been looking and the website and don't see anything about an extended return time to cover items bought as Xmas gifts. That's the norm for most stores. Does anyone know if that's the case for Amazon? I'd love to order a Kindle now, but am afraid it couldn't be returned after Xmas if need be.

Hi Guys, let me share my tried and tested (and super easy!) Rocky Road recipe. I made this to take to work for a MacMillan bake sale, it was going for £2 a slice and when it was gone people were asking me to make more!! (Edited to add - I pinched this picture from Nigella, but mine look just like this, honest ) 15oz milk chocolate (I use Somerfield own at 30p a bar, it's about 6 ...

ODD is at a daycare center. She has two ?regular? teachers. There are also 2 floats. Plus she has a student teacher. And the director of the center sometimes comes in and watches her class for short periods of time. That?s a lot of teachers. So with Christmas coming I was thinking that it might be nice to do a charitable donation on behalf of the teachers instead of trying to buy ...

Would you ever consider giving gift cards for Yoga, Chiropractic or Tai Chi as Christmas gifts? What about Herbs you've grown yourself or aromatherapy items?

For the first time in our relationship, I am at a loss on what to give her on her birthday. Maybe it's because we're enjoying time being spent with our 2month old baby that we forget everything else. She's into tech but not that much. I've been asking recently if an ipod would help me with my exercise or a laptop so she can surf anywhere and she was like "nah" hehe. I could get her gift certs ...

I am making a charitable donation for a friend who is celebrating her 50th birthday tomorrow. I am only doing it online today (procrastinator, I know), but my question is, do I just put a note in the card saying, "A $50 donation has been made to XYZ charity on your behalf" Does the receipt automatically go in my name, or do I have the option to have it issued in her name?
