Hi, I generated a PDF 1.3 file, which opens ok in other readers (foxit reader, ghostview), but Acrobat Reader 8 doesn't display all of it. Also it doesn't redraw after scrolling, so it looks like the rendering process crashes midway. Here is the problematic file: http://www.woutware.com/download/pdf_problem.pdf (attached as well). Opening in the browser does give me an error message, but...

When I choose to view a PDF in "actual size" using Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 or 9, it is NOT actual size. Under Acrobat Reader 7, it WAS actual size. For example, if I go to the properties of the document and find out that it is supposed to be an 8.5 x 11 document, the document on screen is not 8.5 x 11. This used to work under Acrobat 7, but doesn't work under Acrobat 8 or 9. It used ...

I can't print pdfs from Acrobat Pro 9 or 8 or from Reader. The problem is definitely in the program. I can print any other document (even from other Adobe programs), and I can print pdfs from Preview. There is no doubt that the problem is in the Acrobat-reader applications somehow. I have spoken at great length with three Adobe techs and one tech supervisor. They agree with the diagnosis and ...

I get the error "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser. Reader will now exit. Please exit your browser and try again" in Windows 7 x32 and Windows 7 x64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7. This happens when trying to open a PDF file in Internet explorer 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF in Quickbooks 2008. If I answer ok or cancel the file opens normally. If I open acrobat 8 first then ...

I had a similar problem using Firefox as a browser in Vista with Adobe Reader 9.2. The message says "The Adobe Acrobat /Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Please exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and exit your web browser and try again" This is completely useless as advice and Adobe support is no help either. However, using the advice from this forum, I ...
