I popped an abscess on my cat...?

so what should I do now? The abscess was a little bigger than a golf ball. I know that I shouldn't have done it myself but the vet wanted $75 for her to do it. I put him in a warm bath to soften the skin then took him out and popped the sucker. He was not a happy camper and I felt really bad while doing it. I put a little peroxide on it as well and was wondering if I should do anything else.
