ok guys! i have just removed the stock '85 z24! head gasket went bad, so pulled head, and found the head to be cracked! so i will just give this to anyone who wants to come and get it, this is everything! nothing has been touched but the head being taken off, it comes with the alt, powersteering pump, exh manifold, intake, stock carby head valve cover, clutch.... unknown amount of miles on this...

I need help wiring in a tach for a 86 nissan d21 pickup with a z24 engine. It was originally a z24I I'm not sure if someone swapped motors or just changed the intake to a carb model. I want to add a tach but cannot figure out were the negative tach wire is. Does it matter which coil (Exhaust or Intake)? Do the eight spark plugs make a difference on a 4 6 or 8 cylinder setting? All items are used mechanical or small such as steering column, lenses, heater core, master cylinder, mirrors, cooling fan, dash pads, drive axles, A/C lines, spare tires, sun roof, ect. 99 Cavalier Z24 Convertible - 172,000 miles (and a lot left, believe me!) fixed all leaks. changed spark plugs and wires. changed fuel filter. new battery, alternator and starter but when it is 2 cold out it wont start. i was driving it at night and it got below 45 degrees and then the car just started to bog out and then eventually dies a few seconds later. got it back 2 my house the next morning and it was beautiful out and it started. any solutions

I just bought a old 1988 chevy cavalier z24, and when i picked it up the battery was dead but we boosted it and i drove it back to my house, then i tried boosting it again and it will fire up but wont stay idling. i have to keep my foot on the gas to keep it from stalling, im not very familiar with cars, is it just cuz i need a new battery or something else?..

i took engine out of a 86 nissan pu 720 with a z24 motor and put it in a 87 nissan pu d21 with a z24 motor. everything matched up except the distributors. the wiring harness from the 86 dont match up with the 87. tried the 87 distribtor in the 86 engine, total diff set up wont work. i think i have to u 86 distributor in the 87. both trucks have a pcm or ecm. need to get power to distibutor w/o ...

Great site here with some real talent. My machine is a 4x4 with the z24 and carburated. I bought this for $300 since it ran real bad but i saw the potential. So far I replaced the head gasket and all the timing stuff , and all the spark stuff and it runs very good. On my '86(85 1/2) Z24, my ignition coil that fires the intake plugs quit firing. Instead of spending time and money troubleshooting why it quit, I just swapped the coil wires so that the exhaust plug coil would fire the intake side plugs and set the timing accordingly. My question is: will this cause any ill effects down the road? Thanks!
