Hi, Some time ago I tried to install the SP3 update on my XP Media Center Edition 2005. After considerable issues (including BSOD), it told me that it wasn't applicable to 'Media Center', so I cancelled the update. I'm wondering if anyone has had success, or has advice regarding this. Thank you!

I'm planning on upgrading to Windows 7 and need to know what bit rate Windows XP Media Center edition 2005 uses. 32 or 64 or did it come in both? I am reinstalling Windows 7 over XP because it has crashed and I cannot access the computer. It's the family computer. Please, any help is greatly appreciated.

The updates are Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update for .NET versions 2.0 through 3.5 (KB951847) x86 It says " some updates cannot be installed" and other times I get error code ox643? Thankyou, I'm up and running on SP3 !! I was worried for awhile when the machine kept churning away for about 45 minutes at the "Finishing Installation / Performing Cleanup" stage. (confirming the rule of "... don't interfere with an installation unless it absolutely freezes".) Perhaps that was due to the multitude of KB971486 installations on it(??). Thanks, and have a wonderful 2010 !!
