I recently bought a colt xse government and 4 mags. I had to mail order ammo since there is none available in my area to by. So I think I will just shoot 22cal.(I have ammo)

have a Colt XSE stainless in 45 ACP. This gun had night sites on it that went dead, and I have swapped the rear out for a Novak. The front site is still the dead night sight. It is in excellent condition, and has mostly been sitting in a safe over the years. I don't shoot much any more, so am trying to thin things out. $650. Located in South Georgia. PM if interested.

Size wise, how does a 4566 compare to a commander size 1911? I know both are single stack .45's with 4.25" barrels, but beyond that I'm in the dark. I've been thinking about picking up a Colt XSE Commander for off duty carry, but considering our issue pistol is a 4566* I'm thinking it might be kind of redundant. I have a question. I was looking at a Colt Commander in stainless but its the XSE model so it comes with an ambi thumb safety. Is it possible to remove just the right side safety? Is there a plug that would need to go into the hole that is left? And is this safe to do? Thanks

Folks. I've been on a waiting list at several dealers for an XSE 5" in SS. Anyone know who has them? Ozarkguns have been great and their price is hard to beat. *my question: I've heard colt has colt checkered rosewood grips with the colt medallion, but nothing is on their website... How can I find out if this is true and how would I go about ordering them once I have my xse?!?!

Hello, I now own four 45ACPs. A Springfield TRP Operator, Colt's New Agent, Colt Lightweight Commander XSE and MetroArms American Classic II. All of them have 4.5-5.0 lbf triggers, measured with a 20lbf scale very repeatably, except the TRP Operator. Almost ordered a nib colt rail gun yesterday... Then figured I'd check the cal doj approved list... Long story short, the xse is authorized but the rail gun is not!!! I nearly flipped! They're nearly identical, save the rail, and California hasn't approved the rail gun!!! So now I'm back on a waiting list for a ss 5" xse.

I did a search, came up nada. What are your opinions on lined vs. unlined holsters. Some companies say their holsters are finished well enough on the inside, you don't need lining. I have a Colt Commander XSE SS coming. I would not want it scratched up by the holster. Not every company offers lining, so am I limiting my options needlessly by looking only for lined Holsters?
