I agree with Dennis that on a Windows system your jitter numbers don't really seem out of line. At the same time, if you are seeing more jitter when using Xon/Xoff flow control, I would recommend using Rts/Cts flow control instead if it is supported by your instrument. When using Xon/Xoff flow control, it is likely that every incoming byte has to be looked at by the driver (depending on...

I am using RB2009r3 to communicate with a serial device utilizing XOn/XOff handshaking. The device (for which I wrote the firmware) sends a lot of ASCII data (512K and greater) to the RB application at 115,200 baud. However, the received data has LOTS of dropped characters. I have checked the firmware using two different terminal emulation programs (TeraTerm and Hyperterm) and the XOn/XOff flow ...

Hello, I am dialing into a meridian switch. My terminal software is set to 9600,8,n,1,xon/xoff. The final connection is on an extension so the terminal software is configured with the main phone number plus some commas then the extension. I get an answer at the extension. You can hear the connectivity and then the response is either "connect 28800" or "connect 26400". When I press enter ...

one of my favorite b5 quotes (from capt. sheridan): "I apologize. I'm sorry. I'm sorry we had to defend ourselves against an unwarranted attack. I'm sorry that your crew was stupid enough to fire on a station filled with a quarter million civilians, including your own people. And I'm sorry I waited as long as I did before I blew them all straight to ****! As with everything else it's the thought...

Je kan inderdaad een brief krijgen waarop het uitgelegd wordt wat je moet doen. Is handwerk :-( Ja, het lijkt er wel op. Betalen had ik rekening mee gehouden (hoopte stiekem van niet natuurlijk ). ...

I think that the first two symptoms may both have to do with your $TERM, does the behavior with manpages persist inside/outside of screen? Do you have $TERM set outside of screen to vt220 (not sure if this would make a difference, but worth a shot). Otherwise, this may be an ansi vs unicode thing (just a shot in the dark, I haven't actually worked with a real vt220) As for the XON messages, it's...

ctrl/S = XOFF (stop output to terminal). The converse is ctrl/Q = XON (start output to terminal). Thus if you type ctrl/S and the output stops, type ctrl/Q and the output will start again. Hope this helps.
