i know that the radeon 3000 series cards are newer...but the 3450 is a pretty low end card and was wondering if i replaced my existing 3450 with a radeon X1600 Pro 512MB...would i see some increase in gaming performance...for games such as CoD4? Just looking for some opinions and/or technical advice. Thanks for any and all replies.

I am giving my HIS X1600 Pro AGP to my friend. His machine is a Dell Dimension 8300 with a P4 3.0 ghz and about 2GB ram. It's a 2.33 ghz 17" MBP. The built-in display and external displays are both black. Audio works, however. I tried booting from the CD and a bootable external drive to no avail. I have been reading up about the x1600 and x800 units and will likely be picking up either three x1600, or x800s in the near future. My question is this: The x1600 has a 7 stop range, and the x800 has a 5 stop range. I just tried the new driver put out for the ATI Graphic Card X1600/X1650 AGP and the game still crashes. A few graphic card driver versions ago it did work but not anymore.
