So, I get to the vet to look at Zappa's x rays and I was suprised. It was far from severe. The x rays look very similar to his 18 month ones with some added in abnormal bone growth in the left socket. All together, nowhere near what I was expecting to see after getting told it was severe. I was pretty happy. My hubby and I discussed it and Zappa will have surgery in January when my DH comes home ...

I'd always relied on x-rays to tell you if there was something wrong with a tooth. Recently I got a filled tooth x-rayed , the x-ray didn't show up a crack, hole and some decay under the filling. My lovely dentist explained that the large filling had blocked the problem and so it wasn't visible on the x-ray. I'd like to ask the dentists here if this is quite a RARE problem. ...

I brought something up about this several months ago but now it has come up again and I am a little concerned. My husband had a total hip replacement in Oct. He has probably had 6 hip and/or pelvic x rays done over the last 2 months. I know sperm is made on a continual basis unlike eggs, but does anyone know how this type of radiation exposure affects ...

Hi Ladies, I tried searching for this topic but didn't find anything. I apologize if this has already been discussed. I just came back from seeing my doctor regarding my recent pregnancy and miscarriage. He explained that most miscarriages occur from genetic abnormalities and while he was explaining possible causes, he mentioned exposure to radiation through xrays. When I got home, I ...

X-Rays reveal bad HD I posted last week about my 8 month old rescue pup. He had a slight limp after excersizing and the vet thought it was most likely pano. To be sure, we pulled some x-rays pulled this morning, and it revealed pretty bad dysplasia in both hips. The vet just called and we talked about a few options, and ...

Dear Dr. Spindel: I just came back from the dentist today. I took some digital x-rays and they apparently found a cavity on one of my teeth. So with that said, I took another set of x-rays a few months ago, but they were not digital. That set particularly did not detect anything wrong. Yet, this digital set does. My dentist said it's a cavity developing. My question is this...if a cavity is small...

Lions coach Jim Schwartz said an initial X-ray of quarterback Matthew Stafford's left shoulder was negative after Sunday's 38-37 victory over Cleveland. "There's a lot more that needs to be done," Schwartz said. "But the first thing you wanted to eliminate was a broken collarbone or one of those things." More...

Hi Dr. Teig, I contacted you a few days ago, and I forgot to ask you this. I wanted to know that when a dental office prints out digital x-rays on paper, do the x-rays look exactly like the regular film strips, or is it a lot clearer and bigger and show the problem where film strips cannot? Digital x-rays show I have a cavity while the film strips do not. If I'm going to pay for digital x-rays to...

QUESTION: I am wondering about something. I have a regular dentist that I go to. I had symptoms on this tooth for awhile, and my regular dentist who uses film strip x-rays could not find anything wrong. However, I went to another dentist who used digital x-rays and she actually found a cavity around that area. However, she was giving a free consultation but her prices are unbelievably high. So, ...

I have a quick question in regards to digital x-rays. When digital x-rays are usually printed, are they really clear and show irregularities, meaning do dentists or technicians usually zoom in to it and then print it out, or when printed, does it look exactly like the film strips? The reason I ask is because one dentist detected a problem with the digital x-rays, but another one found nothing ...
