My wife and I have 2 year old Brits (a male and female from the same litter) that have great noses and are natural pointers. I worked them on pen raised quail this past weekend and I am really looking forward to getting them out this fall to see what they will do on wild birds. My one concern is that they are working to close to me, they almost tripped me a couple times this past Sunday. At ...

If you get an "English" or show bred lab, it will probably be laid back and calm....

Lots of quiet handling. Lots of just letting the dog run and explore. When planting birds for the dog to work, do so after a good long walk. That let's the dog learn that the birds aren't generally going to be found fifty yards from you and/or where you start. CR

Well ladies and gents...Mister Sidecar has gotten himself into a pickle as of late. I am going to begin working with him ASAP but have started considering putting him down. Not because he’s sick, not because of his blindness, not because he’s a bad dog--But because he’s doing what pit bulls do in the worst possible setting EVER and no one I know wants to take on a blind dog...I can’t send him...

I recently got an apartment with my friend and his girlfriend. My mother from the start told me this would be a bad idea, but I had to test it for myself. Not the me moving out part, but moving into an apartment with my roomates being a couple. Before moving into the apartment things were going smooth. We could not wait to move in and call this new apartment our home. We talked about how much fun...
