My wife and I have 2 year old Brits (a male and female from the same litter) that have great noses and are natural pointers. I worked them on pen raised quail this past weekend and I am really looking forward to getting them out this fall to see what they will do on wild birds. My one concern is that they are working to close to me, they almost tripped me a couple times this past Sunday. At ...

I have two labs and a pit. My labs are both neutered boys and were here first, then we later added Kya, my spayed pit. The personality of a lab is pretty variable. If you get a field bred or "American" lab (one that is bred/built to hunt and compete in field trials), it will probably be higher energy, higher drive. If you get an "English" or show bred lab, it will probably be laid back and calm....

Lots of quiet handling. Lots of just letting the dog run and explore. When planting birds for the dog to work, do so after a good long walk. That let's the dog learn that the birds aren't generally going to be found fifty yards from you and/or where you start. CR

So many things going on in our lives right now, don't know where to begin!! First of all, we moved my office to the house, but it took forever (seems like it anyways) to get the computer up and running in my new "office". It had to be wireless so I had to get an adapter for it. After spending hours on the phone with my ISP, it started working. I won't bore you with the details, but it was ...

Not because he’s sick, not because of his blindness, not because he’s a bad dog--But because he’s doing what pit bulls do in the worst possible setting EVER and no one I know wants to take on a blind dog...I can’t send him...

I recently got an apartment with my friend and his girlfriend. My mother from the start told me this would be a bad idea, but I had to test it for myself. Not the me moving out part, but moving into an apartment with my roomates being a couple. Before moving into the apartment things were going smooth. We could not wait to move in and call this new apartment our home. We talked about how much fun...
