Okay, as you may know, I don't like the Eragon books by Christopher Paolini much. This is my cathartic writing excersize about how I dislike the elves in the series. Actually, it came out with much less bashing than I expected to have put in it. As you may guess from the title, I feel like stomping the elves. that said, this is not a curbstomp against the elves....

A while ago I was looking for a topic to write a new story and Green Day's American Idiot came to mind. I know it's been made into a stage play I just wanted to try this and see what I came up with. I thought it got better when there was more contrast between the guitar and drums, it sounded more like Black Sabbath then, it had a good groove to it. I think some kind of soloing would be great for this piece. Also, during the initial really heavy part, changing the drum pattern up would help build the tension before you get to the groovier part. When I try to set my gnome-terminal instances to be semi-transparent, it doesn't seem to work. See the screenshot below. I see the same issue with Firefox and any other program I've tried this on. The only way I can get transparency to take effect is if I change the filter to "any", which of course makes ALL of my windows semi-transparent. Am I doing something wrong here? I'm starting Compiz...
