How do you deal with it? I have shunned all my family and friends. I live totally alone. I live without any love. But it doesn't seem to bother me unless I have a dream about some woman I fancied years ago. Then I spend maybe two days in pain. A pain that is sort of enjoyable. Most people would not be able to live like us. They would probably rather die. Does it bother you?

Truth without love is cruelty and confrontation without a real answer is brutality. I see no conflict in being kind and in telling the truth. I am also very grateful for those that are not afraid to take an unpopular position in AA and tell the truth. My first sponsor had a way of being direct, and yes it stung it at times, but it never felt like he was being deliberately cruel to me...
