Hi Is there a known compatibility problem with win7 and wireless routers. A friend said he can't connect to his netgear router and believes he needs to wait for a firmware update. Seems odd. Why would win7 alter the basic networking protocols? I have googled but with limited / contradictory results.

I ended up replacing my old Linksys wireless router with a new Belkin wireless router that was tested for Windows 7 compatibility. Since my wife's new netbook has Windows 7 and my old laptop has XP and my MAC has OSX, it was important to have something that works well with all three operating systems.

Since installing Windows7 on my Studio 1555 Laptop, the wireless feature has been disabled. I am currently accessing the Internet by ethernet cable, but upon opening 'manage wireless networks', no wireless networks are displayed, not even my own!  I have searched all the Tech support pages but cannot find the method of enabling the feature.  Can anyone help please?

Hello, I am generally a Ubuntu user; I decided to try Fedora 12 on my laptop first. I installed F12 KDE 64 bit from a live cd. I tried downloading the Broadcom Linux driver as suggested on the Suse forums here: http://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Howto_ins...2-xxxx_lapt ops . This yielded no results. I tried using KPackage Manager to do a system update (sometimes resolves wireless issues in ...

Hi, while in Front Row I cannot access the Internet to watch film trailers for example. If I try I get the message:"Your computer is not connected to the Internet. Check your network settings and try again". This happens also when I use a mobile broadband connection. If I connect the ethernet cable it works fine and all other wireless communication works fine. I had this even before...

Last Sunday I got wireless networking on a Dell Inspiron 1501. I have not tried wired networking but eth0 does show up. I have not been using ndiwrapper but: installed b43-fwcutter and b43-firmware from slackbuilds. Then b43-fwcutter -w /lib/firmware/ b43-fwcutter/wl_apsta-3.130.20.0.o reboot and wireless was working with the b43 driver

First and foremost the driver for the wifi adapter must be installed/enabled. Control Panel...Network & Sharing Center...change adapter settings (from menu on left) Your adapters will be displayed.  If the wireless adapter isn't there then get the driver (via Dell's support site) and install it! If it is there but grayed out it is disabled.  Right click and enable from the context (...
