I just purchased this 2001 Ford Windstar minivan and have had to remove the fuse for the interior lights because the car thinks one of the doors are open. hey I have a 98 windstar. the other night when I put it in reverse, the dash lights go into there test mode. just like when you first start the van. its not all the lights, just the seat belt, low washer fluid, and door ajar light. at this point it is only annoying, but I don't want it to be the begining of something worse. any ideas? thanks Will

my 98 Windstar started to act strange last night. when you move the selector into reverse, it initiates the test system for some of the dash lights. just like when you first start the van. it only does the seat belt, low washer fluid, and the door light. it doesn't do any of the other ones. I can hear the relays clicking. at this point it has not caused any problems other than being annoying...

I noticed it has a port below the cap on the filler neck which points towards the right (looking from front of vehicle). In my Windstar 98, I always get the door ajar light in my dashboard, because the switch in the sliding door is not working, the van "thinks" that the door is not well closed/open. I was in Walmart yesterday, and noticed that the FL-400S is significanly shorter. It says "new size same performance". I may need to change over to a Wix/NG for my next change on my Windstar. Anyone else seen this yet ? It still appeared to be a Purolator with the threaded end bypass.
