I currently have a T43p (2668 model) and on numerous occasions I have tried to install Windows XP SP3 from an EXE file that I downloaded directly from Microsoft. It gets about 50% done and then I get an 'Unable to Acess" pop-up box, the process is aborted and it automatically un-installs whatever it had already done so up to the same point. I have discovered some major issues with internet explorer version 8.  IE8 can not be intalled prior to SP3.  It can only be installed after SP3.  It causes problems of slowness and timeouts, and will not operate correctly. When we update our 745s to Windows XP SP3 they nearly always (almost 100% of the time) go into a boot loop following the install.  I've been able to update a few of our 745s to SP3 and have created a new image as well but I'd like to find out what is causing the problem so we can avoid imaging the remaining computers to update them. I need to upgrade from Windows XP Home Edition SP3 to Windows XP Professional.  I am at a small business and 3 of the computers are running Windows XP Home.  I need to be running Windows XP Pro in order to join a domain.  I was wondering if I upgrade from XP Home SP3 do I need to upgrade to XP Pro SP3? 1 person needs an answer I do too

I saw that in the Spring of 2008 some people had this error with SP3 for XP installations, but an MS tech individual said that problem had gone away with production versions - WRONG.  Today, Windows Update told me I needed to install SP3 on a Dell XPS M140 running XP Pro with SP2.  I did so and when it did the reboot after installing SP3 I got the same bludscreen error people were getting a year...

I'm sure someone has fought this battle before. Windows XP SP3 Cannot Detect Sony DCR-TRV19 Firewire DV connection, and therefore, FME cannot either. USB streaming mode works fine to FME.   I have scoured Google and the answer is always to upgrade KB88522, which is for SP2. I have SP3.   Any help would be greatly appreciated!
